Art Class Expectations

I do not expect each student to be a Leonardo da Vinci, Norman Rockwell, or Grandma Moses. What I do expect is for each student to have a good attitude, to participate in the daily work, and give 100% of their effort in their production. This APP will garner them a daily grade similar to a homework assignment. Each medium will be practiced for several weeks and will conclude with a final piece that will be weighted heavier similar to a test.

The grading will be the same across the board for every student. The novice and experienced and the gifted students will all be graded by the same standards. Artistic ability will not matter.

High School Art

The first medium of the year, colored pencil, has concluded with the final project. This was a realism exercise of a bowl of fruit with a vase of grass, sounds fantastic doesn’t it? Before the class began work on it the project rubric of requirements was handed to out and discussed. The pieces will be displayed in the hall. Graded sheets on the pieces will handed back this week so if you’re curious how your student did please feel free to ask them. The actual pieces will be sent home in the coming weeks.

As always daily work will generally be handed back to the students about once a week.
