Heritage Christian Academy is owned and operated by Heritage Christian Academy Association, a Michigan nonprofit corporation. Government is vested in the school board. Board members are approved and elected by the school board to serve.

To assist the board in effective planning and policy development, several committees have been formed to study issues and develop recommendations for board action. These committees are Vision, Stewardship, Educational Policies & Academic Excellence, Technology, School Life, and Athletic.

The administrator is responsible to the board for effective and efficient day-to-day management of the school.
